NAC Group finds work for 4000 young people

Posted on March 14, 2014

NAC Group

A SUNDERLAND business responsible for providing education and training programmes to the automotive sector is celebrating after finding employment for 4000 young people and supporting their 2000th apprentice

NAC Group is a fast growing supplier of training programmes, apprenticeships, agency staff and outsourced logistics services to the automotive sector. As well as celebrating some key milestones this month, the company has worked with fellow Wearside business Pulse Creative Marketing to launch a brand new website that will help young people find out more about their training programmes.

NAC Group’s training division offers a range of programmes aimed at young people such as the Pre-employment Programme (PEP) and Youth Evolution Scheme (YES). The PEP programme is designed to prepare 18-23 year olds for work in the automotive sector. Trainees undertake a 6 week programme of learning and training activities to gain a nationally recognised qualification in the automotive manufacturing sector.

The YES Programme is designed specifically to prepare 16-18 year olds. Trainees undertake a 19 week programme which includes on the job training at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, culminating in a nationally recognised qualification. Interested applicants can apply via the Nissan or nac-group.co.uk website.

Paul Robson, Managing Director of the NAC Group says: “At a time when youth unemployment remains stubbornly high, this is some really good news. We have responded to the employers’ needs for work-ready, motivated new recruits. The automotive sector has ambitious expansion plans that provide excellent opportunities for anyone who is looking to make a good career.”

“We recognise the importance of continued investment in world-class facilities and over the last 5 years have invested over £2 million in training premises and equipment . Our trainees must be able to experience conditions that closely resemble those that they will encounter when they go for real work experience or into employment.”

Pulse has been instrumental in developing a new website for NAC Group to showcase the excellent services and training programmes available. A key element of the website is the ability for NAC Group staff to update the latest news, and allowing applicants to apply online.

Paul Robson added “Marketing is really important to NAC Group and because we offer so much through our various divisions we needed a website that was clearly structured to allow trainees to find information and apply for relevant programmes. The team at Pulse got this and as well as being really happy with the overall look of the site, it also incorporates an easy to use content management system allowing our staff to easily and effortlessly make updates. The support we’ve received has really helped develop our online presence.”

Paul Finch, manager at Pulse, whose portfolio of services includes design and print, strategic marketing and web design, said: “NAC Group is a really exciting business to work with and it is great to hear that we have developed a solution that works really well for them. The services offered are quite extensive and it was a challenge to bring all of this information together, however working with NAC Group was a pleasure and the end result speaks for itself. I wish NAC Group all the best and look forward to working with them on future projects.”
