Volunteers support our future entrepreneurs

Grpahic of One Day Campaign

Children can look forward to an enterprising future, thanks to volunteers across the region, delivering in schools the Young Enterprise North East (YENE), One Day Campaign.

Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading business and enterprise education charity, The One Day Campaign, encourages local businesses to pledge their time and resources to develop the region’s future entrepreneurs.

Catherine Marchant YENE Chief Executive explains: “This campaign is simple and direct, any business small or large can be involved, as they pick and choose the level of commitment depending on their size.”

Pulse Creative Marketing volunteered two members of staff to take one day out of their busy schedule to speak to young people about the world of work. Impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the children, they each decided to complete a six session primary programme.

Karen Forster from Pulse Creative Marketing said: “Being involved in the programme has been an excellent opportunity to educate young people about the world of work whilst also developing my own personal skills. As a business it is important to have an impact on developing the regions future economy.”

So far the 18 month campaign has received pledges from 102 businesses, which means the campaign is well on its way to achieving its target which is to sign up one business every day.
