Holiday Cottages Open Within Queen Mother's Former Estate
Brenda is set to ensure that everyone can enjoy a relaxing holiday in the region, when she officially opens Hedley Hall Country Cottages. Situated within the beautiful grounds of Hedley Hall, near Sunniside, Newcastle Upon Tyne, the cottages which have been awarded a four star and a disability access award by Quality in Tourism, are specifically designed to accommodate all guests, regardless of their mobility.
Once a working farm, Hedley Hall is now a five star guest house accommodation, which as well as winning national awards was also entered into the North East of England Tourist Award for Best Bed & Breakfast in 2005. The addition of the four access friendly cottages within the grounds is a positive step to continue the development of the successful business.
Brenda explains: “The inspiration for Hedley Hall Country Cottages came from my husband and our experiences when going on holiday together. My husband was wheelchair bound which made it very difficult to find holiday accommodation designed to accommodate his needs.”
“My guests will not have to face the problems that I have encountered. The Country Cottages have been designed so everyone can access the beautiful idyllic surroundings of Hedley Hall. We can now provide guests staying with family members that have a disability the option of separate cottages, this will enable our guests to maintain their independence, whilst also having assistance nearby if required.”
The self-contained cottages are perfect for family holidays or relaxed weekends away. Situated within 16 and a half acres of countryside, they have been lovingly designed to complement the surrounding area and have stunning views down into the Beamish Burn Valley. Each of the four modernly designed holiday cottages contain a lounge / dining room, gallery kitchen, good sized bedrooms (super king/ twin) bedrooms, en-suite level access wet room, family bathroom with overhead shower and a garden patio area.
Brenda has received marketing support, from growing agency Pulse Creative Marketing, to prepare for the official opening. Pulse have written and distributed a press release to the media, developed a letter to introduce the services to contacts from caring associations and also developed a 1/3 rd A4 double sided leaflet for the new venture.
